The Maori people of New Zealand used Manuka as a medicinal plant, to treat fevers and colds and as a sedative. Early European settlers gave Manuka the English name of "tea tree". Manuka honey comes from bees that have feasted on the Manuka flowers.
This is a strong flavoured honey with a fresh clean bite. It has a mono-pollen count of over 70%, ensuring and exceptionally high antioxidant and antibacterial content int he final the honey. Manuka is 173% more potent in this regard than regular honey.
