Mak Tok Rendang Paste
Did you know that rendang is not considered a curry in Malaysia? The flavour of this dish is so complex that it has its own category in Malaysian cuisine. The natural lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, and ginger give this paste a complex profile – so much that all you can say when you put it in your mouth is "Dang Good!" (This is Mak Tok's joke, not ours, but we can't resist a good pun and had to share it with you.)
Mak Tok was born of two international students' yearning for home-cooked Malaysian cuisine, and a desire to share the rich, spicy, mouth-watering flavours from their home with the world.
