Sabarot Quinoa Mix 400g
Delicious, healthy and gluten-free. Quinoa is touted as a “super crop” and is a popular health food. It is a protein-rich see that is commonly used as a grain substitute in cooking. It has a nutty and earthy flavour and has a slightly crunchy texture, making it a very versatile ingredient that can be used in both savoury and sweet dishes.
Always rinse quinoa thoroughly before cooking, to remove the bitter coating on the seeds. Use a fine-mesh strainer and rinse under cold running water for about two minutes. Once rinsed, add one cup of quinoa to two cups of water or broth in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and cover. Simmer for about 15 - 20 minutes until the water / broth has been absorbed and the quinoa is tender.
Use as a base for salads or grain bowls, also great in stir-fries and substitute rice with quinoa from time to time.
