Those of you who have enjoyed a steak with us in the past year may have noticed the Three Butchers mustard you were offered. We’d forgive you for not giving it a second thought, however Three Butchers is something we’re very excited about.
Being a restaurant group, we have access to the highest quality ingredients from all over the world. While we have loved sharing them with you when you dine with us, we wanted you to be able to enjoy them at home too. And so, Three Butchers was born. A house label that brings restaurant-quality products to the shelves of our grocery stores at everyday prices.
We began with three humble lines of mustard, the perfect complement to our steaks. And while we were thinking of enhancing red meat, red wine naturally sprang to mind.
In collaboration with The Black Type and Wine Brothers, we bring you a stunning 2019 Australian Shiraz, tailor-made for meat. It’s ripe and fruity without a hint of sweetness. Dark cherries and blackberries abound, a touch of spice and that signature Shiraz black pepper character, which are all supported by fine but well-rounded tannins. (A note from our in house wine nerds: tannins work so well with meat as they help ‘scrub’ the palate of fat, readying it for the next sumptuous mouthful.)
The Thee Butchers Shiraz is great. Mouth filling and satisfying, but an easy-drinking everyday drop nonetheless. And that’s certainly reflected in the price. At just $148 for a bottle to take away from our grocery stores or web store, it’s something you can afford to open anytime the mood strikes! And importantly, an example of what you can expect from Three Butchers going forward: top quality products, with clean, simple labels at everyday prices.
